New “Marriage Without Monogamy” Essay at TangoMag.com
The sixth essay in my ten-part Marriage Without Monogamy series was posted on Tango’s website last night, and according to at least one of my editors, this is by far the best one yet. It’s titled, “The One That Got Away: What happens when an open relationship suddenly becomes closed?”
You’ll have to read the essay yourself, of course, to get the full story, but the piece is basically about a road trip I took to Baltimore with C, way back in the beginning stages of our relationship. An acquaintance from my Seattle days had recently relocated to Baltimore, and this was someone I had always been hugely attracted to. The two of us hadn’t talked in literally years and years, and it seemed to me that she was only reaching out now because she’d just broken up with her boyfriend. This all sounded pretty good to me, of course, and because I was living in Pittsburgh at the time – just a few hours drive to Baltimore – I decided to scheduled a weekend visit.
C, interestingly enough, decided to come along for the ride. Oops!
