I just got the good news from a marketing assistant at Perseus Books: The Avalon Travel team apparently thinks highly enough of Moon Handbooks Pittsburgh that they’ve gone ahead and nominated it for this year’s Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Awards. I’m flattered, for sure.
In fact, the Perseus employee who sent me the email had this to say: “The book has received a lot of positive feedback, and I think it will be a strong contender.” If I’m not mistaken, the awards are handed out sometime in October, so we’ll see what happens. And in the meantime, the guide continues to be the top-selling book of any sort in Amazon.com’s Pittsburgh category, which is wonderful news. And don’t forget: Anyone can order autographed copies of the book through my website, PioneerContent.com — just click on the link that says: This Is Our Shop. Or shoot me an email, <dan@youngpioneers.com> and I’ll be more than happy to send you a personalized copy myself.
